During this session, you will learn Qualified Payment Card Agent (QPCA) and 1099 basics: what needs to be reported, the consequences for non-compliance and possible approaches for formulating a compliance strategy. You’ll take away a thorough understanding of 1099 reporting requirements, a critical first step toward smooth compliance. This session will look at how Columbia University successfully implemented its P-Card program and provide you with tips on how to implement a successful program on your campus.

Transaction Auditing Process
This class will demonstrate how the University of Washington identifies transactions requiring an audit and the applied methods used to reduce risk and educate P-Card users. It isn’t just about detecting misuse; it’s also about the education of card users and catching problems before they occur. Specific procedures will be presented in identifying “at risk” transactions and the steps used to deal with them.

P-Card spend is 79% higher in organizations that review performance statistics and issue reports than in those who do not, according to benchmark data provided by Palmer & Associates. Data mining can help organizations to uncover patterns and trends in their spend, supplier, or other data to drive improved vendor relations, fraud detection, and reduced risk. 2:30-3:30 p.m. Disciplinary Action for P-Card Misuse
Purposeful fraud or misuse of P-Cards doesn’t happen often, but when it does disciplinary action should be quick and permanent, but what about unintentional misuse, do you have procedures in place to deal with it fairly and effectively? This class will demonstrate how the University of Washington deals with P-Card misuse by presenting its guidelines and procedures. Class participation is encouraged in order to share what other programs do to stem the tide of card misuse.

Combination or Co-existence: Travel Cards and
P-Cards Pros and Cons
Some institutions see benefit in letting employees put travel on their personal credit cards. Others prefer to run a separate corporate card and purchasing card program. Still others support the entire spectrum of spending on a p-card platform. This open forum will cover the pros and cons of these approaches. This session will focus on some university case studies with particular attention on mandates, data consolidation, reporting/auditing, and working with your issuer. This session will address integrating your ERP with P-Cards from a variety of perspectives – the University of Central Florida has managed a major system conversion and P-Card integration. They will talk about how UCF worked with both the bank and the ERP systems for successful results, using data from both sources. REGISTRATION FEES
The registration fee for PDG's 10th National P-Cards on Campus Conference is $540. The fee includes three breakfasts, two luncheons, one reception, all refreshment breaks, and all conference materials. If you plan to have two people attend for only part of the conference, each person must pay the full registration fee. Please note: the conference sessions, luncheons, and breakfasts are for registered conference participants only. Please complete and return the registration form as soon as possible. A check, purchase order, or credit card information should accompany the form. Or, you may register on-line at www.prodev.com on our secure, credit card safe, server. Registration confirmation will be e-mailed within five business days of receipt. If an e-mail is not provided, standard mail will be used. If you do not receive a confirmation, please phone PDG to verify your registration before you depart for the conference. PDG will request payment at registration if your purchase order or payment has not reached our office prior to that time. REFUNDS
Requests for refunds will be honored only if notification of cancellation is received in writing (fax or e-mail) by February 3, 2007. Cancellation by telephone is not sufficient. Registrants who fail to cancel will not be refunded their registration fee. A $50 administrative fee will be charged for all cancellations. No refund will be honored after the conference. CANCELLATIONS & SUBSTITUTIONS
In the event of cancellation or change in hotel or date, registrants will be notified by mail. Professional Development Group II, Inc. will not be responsible for expenses involved with a cancelled conference. PDG reserves the right to substitute speakers without notice.
