Are the recent changes in Form 1042-S and 1042 complicating your filing season? Does the new penalty structure ($260 per form) make you nervous about your filing? Or, like a number of organizations, are you still struggling to even understand what your Form 1042 and 1042-S reporting obligations are?

Recent changes have resulted in:

  • More than 55 boxes to populate
  • More than 165 codes to choose from
  • Revolving Income Codes – Other Income has changed from 50 to 51 to 54

FATCA resulted in a re-design of the Form 1042-S. While many fields were not required to be populated initially, they have been phased-in and are now required. Complicating matters further, the Form 1042 has also doubled in length.

Attend an in-depth training session with leading industry experts. The session will include:

  • When reporting on Forms 1042-S and 1042 is required
  • A review of all the W-8 forms, including all the changes
  • What fields are required to be completed for different types of payments
  • Where to find the information required to populate new fields
  • How to use your Form 1042-S filing to populate Form 1042
  • How to ensure your Form 1042 filing doesn't result in incorrect late deposit penalties
  • Best practices for avoiding penalties

Added Bonus Value: Each attendee will receive an Incompatible Codes Checklist they can use when completing Forms 1042-S to help avoid penalties.

Participant questions are welcome throughout the session.
